WAIT House Donation Presentation
Posted: 9/24/2020
On September 14th, 4 members representing 100 Women Who Care Northeast Chapter (100WWCNE) met with Executive Director, Margaret Devries and Fund Development Coordinator, Erin Coon of WAIT House in Glens Falls. They were presented with the generous donations from 100WWCNE members who collected a total of $3,900 after the August 5th Zoom meeting.
WAIT House offers emergency shelter to homeless youths age 16-25 as well as long term transitional living facilities, street outreach, case management services, life skills training, mentoring, education, and follow up and support for youths leaving the shelter. Since the opening of its door in 2003, WAIT House has provided 27,000 bed nights to more than 1,800 area youth and young adults.
The donations from 100WWCNE will be used for purchasing personal care and hygiene products, as well as clothing, bedding, food, and other essential items needed by teens and young adults residing at WAIT House. WAIT House relies heavily on monetary donations as well as donations of specific personal items in order to carry out the services they provide. To learn more about WAIT House, please visit their website at www.hycwaithouse.org or follow them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/wait.house. WAIT House publishes a "wishlist" of needed items each week. Please consider helping this wonderful organization continue to provide vital services in our local community!
Finally, a HUGE "THANK YOU!" to all of the members of 100WWCNE for your continued participation, support, and donations! Your generosity will continue to have a great impact on others in need in our local communities. We look forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting on November 4th! The meeting will be here before we know it, so be sure to mark your calendars and start thinking about a charity you would like to nominate. Details about the meeting venue/format and nomination deadline will be sent soon. As always, please spread the word about the great work 100WWCNE does, and encourage them to read more about us on our website.
